For a simple meditation technique, this is the one that I've been using for years..
First you Light a candle or incense that is of a sent that helps to relax you, such as lavender or rose. If you don't yet feel comfortable with meditation, a sage incense might be best, since it brings a sense of peace and protection.
Sit or lay in a comfortable position, and focus first on your feet. Tell your feet to relax in your mind, keep doing this until they are fully relaxed {Don't worry you'll know when}. Then move up to your legs, telling them to relax until they are full relaxed... repeat this all the way up your body. Your hips, your belly, your chest, your hands, your arms, your shoulders, your neck, your head, and then your mind.
Take in this feeling of pure relaxation...Keep it, hold it, embrace it.
Now is a time you can focus on a specific virtue or skill you might want to bring about in your life. Say for instance you would like to focus more on Tarot skills or Gardening... you could repeat an affirmation to yourself while in this state and it will have a much stronger hold. Such as, "My Intuition when using the tarot is incredibly strong and accurate, each meaning of every card is known to me" or "I have created the garden of my dreams, all of my plants bloom with ease". Create your own affirmation and say it to yourself while in this state.
